December 8, 2021 - And then there were three

Today we go down memory road just a couple of yearsmore  and there is the addition of two more grandchildren. Then there were three to experience Christmas. It was such fun as we watched them enjoying all the fun of the season. You know when you see Christmas through the eyes of a child the experience fills you joy and love.

It's hard to believe that these three are now grown adults. Experiencing college and work.

The two new additions had their own way of working into your heart. They were as close as twins and still connect with each other uniquely in their own way. We see the books Santa has at his fingertips; cookie recipes, customs from around the world, and the inevitable book of Good and Bad . I notice that Santa must have been looking ahead to after Christmas Eve as there is also a copy of the South Beach Diet . I don't think it ever really works to remove those cookies, candies, hot chocolate and other goodies he samples at at those houses.

One my traditions for this season is the baking of Christmas cookies. I try to get a variety of cookie recipes from around the world. One Christmas when I was teaching middle school geography we studied Europe. I assigned every student a country and with a few duplicates. They were to research a Holiday custom from their assigned country and find a recipe for a holiday sweet. Then make two dozen to share with the class. Not being a math major a forgot that 20X24 = 480 cookies. Class was the second period of the day. Cookies were devoured  as each student presented their assigned country's customs. The Energy was high when they left my classroom.

And then there were three

I found this little song on my YouTube search and I do believe it may becomea favorite for me.
"Gosh I sure do Love those Christmas Cookies Sugar" and the 15 minute wait is fun too!

I still have to make those Christmas cookies to be so eagerly gobbled up. N
ext week will be cookie week.
